Black Friday... How can People afford it in an economy like this?

Black Friday: If Hell is anything like it, before we know it the entire world will be confessing their sins and being saved. This year was my first year participating in the devine chaos of Black Friday. I always thought everyone was a bullshitting lier when they said things get crazy, fist fights break out, and people get trampled. THEY ARE NOT BULLSHITTING! I flew solo this black Friday, not smart for your first one. I was so freaked out I Had to call my best friend to come sit with me. I waited in line for 4 hours for this Lap Top I’m typing on. And as I sat on the floor in walmart  I got extra observant after my phone died.  It was at Wal-Mart and I got there at 8:30pm. My lovely Apple iPhone Died at about 9:45 and the line for these 200$ laptops were now wrapping around the building so if I got out of line to go charge it in my car I would have not gotten this computer. So I patiently waited until midnight. While waiting I couldn’t help but to count down till 10pm. That’s when the first sale started… Everything was on sale at 10pm Except for my luck, electronics. They didn’t go on sale till midnight. I was determined to get this lap top so I waited. As 10pm hit so did hell. It was so hilarious (due to my lack of sleep) to watch people shove eachother over a 15$ shop vac and 150$ trampolines. The Checkout lines started to back up at about 11:15 and as they went past the pharmacy (where I was waiting in line) and into the garden center, I started noticing people who I have seen before. My town is not a very big town but it has a lot of people. So at one point and time you’ve probably crossed paths with almost every beating heart. I got really observant when I seen Two older Folks (probably a grandfather and grandmother) With not Just 3 Trampolines but 4, YES! 4 Trampolines lined up in their baskets. I was mind bogled right then and there, but what made it worse was when I got my laptop and Was standing in line. The People before me were amazingly amusing. I got cut in front of I don’t know how many times, but I kinda just brushed it off. I was stoked I got my laptop and I had all night to wait. So while I was in line waiting in these lines that seemed to wrap around the store in every isle I seen this lady and her husband gaurding their carts with their life. I suddenly started looking to search what was so important that they had to guard it for. They had items such as A trampoline,  a Kodak Digital camera, 2 HP laptops, 3, yes, 3 freaking HP desktop Computers, A nintendo Wii, and an Xbox 360. Plus like tons of movies and video games. I thought to my self “holy shit, I can barley afford this 200$ laptop, how the HELL are these people affording all this other crap.” I finally seen the womans face and I couldn’t help but to Gasp. The Lady is someone I constantly see around my town, We have stores like smiths, albertsons, wal-mart, and that’s about it for grocery stores, I see this lady around town all the time, and I get very observant while in stores waiting in line. This lady has been in front of me many times before in any given supermarket, and I constantly see her swipe an EBT card.

For all of you that don’t know what that is, its like welfare from the state but you can only buy food, and its not taxed.

But this lady always used her card, and in that moment I got so pist off. I bust my ass day in and day out to make it financially in this world, with a fucked up economy. I make to much to be on any assistance from The State of New Mexico. (300$ every 2 weeks is too much) I’m Only 19, with no kids so I don t have it that rough…yet. I still live with my mom, and I don’t have to pay rent. But with the carpayment I have to make, my insurance payment, and cellphone bill(not essential I know but forgive me for being a teenager who is a textaholic) so at this point I was pist, This lady probly had about 2000$ worth of merch in her four carts and I didn’t even have a cart, I had my laptop gripped thinking about how im going to get in so much troble if I don’t make my car payment on time again, while the lady next to me was rolling in wealth… knowing her kids are gunna be fed tomorrow with her ebt food sttamps card. I was angered and I wanted to know more, so I went stalker mode. I jumped behind her and her husband in line and they were still sorting thru their bags while the cashier was scanning my one item, so after I quickly trailed behind them, I parked  way on the oppisite side where they parked but im kinda glad I parked no where near their brand new Chevy Tahoe that had rims that were shiny refelecting the wal-mart, I think they were 20” rims.

So it made me think, how many people are taking advantage of the system like they are? How many people are taking my tax paying dollars through falsifying documents. It frusterates  “assistance”.
